Bill Mead began his work in museums more than twenty years ago at the Walters Art Museum in
Baltimore where he would become the staff mount maker. Since then, he has forged a
successful career as a freelance mount maker, helping museums and private collectors around
the country present their art works with the care and professionalism they deserve. The
National Gallery of Art, the Museum of the American Indian and the American Museum of Natural
History are among the many museums that have retained Mead for his skills, thoughtful
professionalism and expediency.
Bill Mead lives with his family in New York's Catskill Mountains. He paints when he's not making
mounts and occasionally moonlights as web designer.
Museum Mounts creates object mounts that are both safe for the art object and unobtrusive for
the viewer. Our mounts are most often made from soldered brass padded and painted to match
the object. Archival materials such as ethafoam and acrylic sheeting may also be used. Prices
are reasonable and all mounts are guaranteed. Based in New York's HudsonValley, we are
available to work on site whether you are near or far.
